Integrated Architectural Design:
The design of buildings requires the integration of many kinds of information into a synthetic whole. An integrated process, or “whole building” design process, includes the active and continuing participation of client, end user, architect/ building technologist/specification writer, cost consultants, structural and civil engineer, mechanical and electrical engineer, specialists, planning and building control officers and consultants from many other specialised fields. The best buildings result from active, consistent, and organised collaboration among all players. Traditionally, the Architect has been regarded as team leader. The standard operation of the integrated project team depends on:
- Clear and continuous communication.
- Rigorous attention to detail.
- Active collaboration among all team members.
Adherence to these principles will assure the best results.
